How is a supersonic jet, which will travel faster than the speed of sound?

America’s space agency NASA and major aerospace sector company Lockheed Martin have launched a low-noise supersonic aircraft X-59. According to the information, the speed of this aircraft is faster than the speed of sound. Today we will tell you what a supersonic aircraft looks like and what are its features.

1.4 times the speed of sound

According to the information, X-59 can fly at 1.4 times the speed of sound. After the test flight of the X-59, the US space agency will provide data to the regulators, which will help in reconsidering the decision to ban commercial supersonic flight. Let us tell you that at present America has banned commercial supersonic flights due to noise pollution caused by strong sound waves (sonic boom).

The first flight will take place this year. X-59

NASA said that the design and size of the X-59 will enable it to achieve high speed with low noise. NASA official Pam Melroy said that this is a big achievement, which has been possible due to the hard work of NASA and the entire X-59 team. But first the US space agency will conduct flight tests, after the completion of the flight tests, this aircraft will fly in several selected cities of America, so that feedback can be received about how people understand the sound emanating from the X-59. < /p>

How is the design of the X-59 aircraft

This aircraft is 99.7 feet long and 29.5 feet wide. At the same time, the front part or rather thin nose of X-59 is about one third of its length. Which will break the shock webs, resulting in no sonic boom. The cockpit is almost in the middle of the plane and has no windows at the front. Apart from this, the engine has been installed upwards. Additionally, it has been given a smooth bottom surface to help deflect shockwaves and prevent them from generating sonic booms.

The world’s first supersonic aircraft?

The world’s first supersonic aircraft was Concorde. This aircraft was capable of flying twice the speed of sound, but this supersonic aircraft made its last flight in the year 2003. Since that day the flights of this aircraft were stopped.
